I just thought I'd let all of my fans here know that I'm such a misogynist that I just dropped 12k on a ring for the lady I'm marrying. Damn I hate women.

and you're right, money can't buy love, it just buys the toys, but finding it with a person you've known, and dated on and off for 9 years can be quite enjoyable.

When I proposed to my wife i was living in squalor in a low income housing block for 200 dollars a month. It was about the size of an economy hotel room.
We were both crashing on friend's couches and floors before we met one another. We met on a friday night, and literally talked until Sunday morning, just yapping, as if we were old friends who hadn't seen each other in 20 years.
after we got the apartment, I remember she and I literally counting pennies and nickels to buy a frozen pizza, which had to last us three days. I remember pouring the change into the change-to-cash machine at the drug store.
And I count those days as some of the happiest I've ever had. I proposed to her having known her for only 3 weeks.
Her ring, which she still has and loves was $102.30.
I started with nothing, and I still seem to have a little bit of it left.
Those were the most carefree/stressfree days of my life. Enjoy them!

You win!
Mrs S's original engagement ring -- the one I proposed with -- cost £5 (the 'real' one cost a fair amount more, but nowhere near $12k). But hey, she still said yes.

congrats phil
here's wishing you all the best...
only words of advice:
giving up is too easy... sometimes it takes work,
and it is worth putting in the effort to make it work
i'm lucky to have been married, divorced and remarried [with the same woman] for 23 years

I will only marry once. My mother married, and divorced my father when I was 5 then married and divorced my stepfather when I was 18. I saw the mess it created in her life. I made sure to wait for the right one. If I was marriage happy I would have married my son's mother, but she wasn't right. It will happen once, and once only. It seems we were made for each other, perhaps a bit too much
.

Thanks. Most of me wants it to be a boy, because I remember how I was in high school and wouldn't want my daughter with someone similar, but part of me actually wants a girl. I have a couple of friends with daughters, and they seem to love daddy more than little boys do. Who knows, as long as they're healthy, I'll be stoked. He should be a monster too. I'm 6'1" and my girl is about 5'10" or 5'11" her father is like 6'7". Ouch.

You spent $12K on a wedding ring? Wow, I am impressed. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm convinced, you must really love women.
I'll just forget all of your previous posts and believe that you are a really nice guy.
*hugs*

i don't really see the point of showing up after however long simply to brag about how much you spent on a ring but best of luck on your wedding and the new addition regardless.

I'm still curious why exactly I'm a mysogynist, because I made one joke about my boss' adult daughter like three years ago? Which was just that A JOKE.
I see. Then I guess every dead hooker joking person on this site also hates women.
Or because I wasn't exactly nice to my son's mother who cost me over 25 grand just to be able to see my son? The son I saw like five times before he was six months old and the woman whose entire pregnancy I paid out of pocket for and whose life I still pay for via an overinflated child support payment that just purchased her a brand new car, even though she hasn't worked in four years?
I see. Then I guess every single person on this site who has a female in their life who did wrong by them and isn't particulary fond of them also hates women.
Or was it a forum picture I posted that said shut up cunt on it? Which was just that, a picture, I found on one forum, and posted on another.
I see. Then I guess that every single person who posts an "owned" picture with a child in it hates children.
I'd say the fact that aside from my son, every single other important person in my life happens to be a woman, including my personal hero and inspiration for life should say something. But you wouldn't know that, would you? Because you formed your own opinion, based off the opinion of like two other people on this site, without actually attempting to discover who I really am for yourself.
I do see though that you got an A in labling people based off of like two other people's opinions. Perhaps one day you'll grow up and be able to form one of your own.
By all means, please, show me some examples of where exactly I hated women.
I'm glad that you're such a shallow, asshole, that you can't even let someone make a thread in an attempt to share some news in their life without wipping out your stinky ass and shitting all over it. Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say then shut the fuck up?
