Welcome one and all to the Twelvestone Stock-O-Rama!


our very own Mondo-Photoshop Contest of sorts...

This is an open invitation for you to browse and download images from Stock.XCHNG or morgueFile and post whatever you create from those images and the inspiration you find in the process. As a twist, I would also suggest folks feel free to take an image posted here as a 'starter' if you are so inspired to work it like a 'battle' or 'tennis' volley. Please note the image # or link for images used... it was always most interesting seeing what different artists did with the same images.

most of the old-timers here remember the Unmondo Photoshop Contest: Part Three... quoting audrey: "For newbies wondering what the Unmondo Photoshop Contest is, it's a noncompetitive showcase of digital manipulations/collages using the images online at: unmondo.com" ... i'm sure everone who remembers, misses unmondo.com as much as I do.



The Unmondo Photoshop Contest thread was where I got my start finding inspiration from free images online and where I learned how to post my first images... I owe more to Flak and all those who helped make Unmondo work than anyone will ever know.

for a lack of anything quite like Unmondo...
I would like to start something [hopefully] similarly inspiring
our own Mondo-Photoshop Contest – STOCK•O•RAMA | Redux

it was great fun working with images donated by Unmondo community members...
untill we have something like it again, lets use images from places like Stock.XCHNG or morgueFile
where perhaps 12stone members could post images for us to use.

which is the whole point of the thread... downloading some stock images, getting some creative exercise and posting one image...

should be easier to fit into a busy schedule than a full-on battle committment
that's how I got hooked

hah, thanks mc! yeah, i guess Basquiat is one of those painers you either love or hate
i love his stuff. fine art can get so.. pretentious. i think what attracts me to his stuff is its as if his paintings are almost laughing at that - in a beautifully delirious kind of way.

that and his style lends well to drawing with a mouse

those are both wonderful TikiGirl...
pulling the star out of the converse logo was a good catch, along with teriffic textures... the look down the guitar strings & frets is one that always catches my eye when browsing images, as are the people close-ups...
