DontBogartMe Depot: Flash saving data to harddrive

Can I use Depot to create a Flash app that is shipped on a CD, installed on a laptop which is then run at presentations - the app will collect some simple data (opinion poll type of thing) which would need to be saved locally for export to Excel or similar.

Is Depot the man for the job?

I did try to check out the snepo site for data, but couldn't really find much?

Shit, I haven't even looked at twelvestone in the last couple of days (other than a couple of sideways glances at wfg...)

Depot should work just fine for what you're thinking. You'd just have to set up the configuration for the depot directory to point at an absolute path to a local file. Try downloading the non-commercial version and seeing if it works for your needs. Arse and I are in Toronto over the next week so we won't really be available for support until monday after next. We fly out tomorrow morning... yarrrrrr.

In any case I think it would be suited quite well smile

thanks for confirming what I thought was the case. I don't know if I'll need it yet - I was just looking for solutions for someone.

Have a good trip big grin
