Hi guys,

I really need to get my own site up and running mainly so I can tell potential clients where to go to see examples of my previous work. As is usually the case I'm finding myself short of time to work on my own website.
I have done some quick designs and wondered if I could have your honest opions please.
I'm not the best designer in the world as I'm more a multimedia developer so I know I'll never be able to do anything ground breaking but if you saw any of the below designs would you consider me to be a serious freelancer or should I have another crack at some more designs or which is the best design to keep going with?

Number 2 does it for me.. but I too am a developer not a designer.

I would go with 2 or 4. I would just make the headings a bit smaller.

2 is my fave as well. I like the layout, it's clear and the header image is cool.

I'm not crazy about the way your name appears though... It's nice the way it is because you can style it that way with CSS, but I think it would be better if it looked more like a logo.

Using an interesting font, and a simple graphic would make a world of difference IMHO.

Take a look in the design forum if you need some inspiration, there's some great logo work in there.

Thanks guys. I was more towards 1 and 4 myself but I have a great Flash animation of the top header for design 2.
Know what you mean about my name though. I'll put more work into design 2 I think and see what I can come up with.

As a designer, I think 4 has a lot of potential but you really need to do something with the way the pink and grey work together. I'd switch the pink for white and only keep pink against the white body or at least make the tonal range more contrasty - as it is they fight one another, I'm picking upa simultaneous contrast shimmer.

I also think you should do something funkier with your name and move it to the left. As it is, the eye movement is inverted to normal reading, IMO.

Maybe you could use a big blocky serif like Lubalin, Egyptian, or Geoslab for your name and a sophisticated, modern sans for your headers like Officina...

If you do go for a flash header something organic would be more interesting to me (like 1&4) but that's personal taste.

Other than that, it's a nice,clean design! Looks good so far, keep us posted.
