Feel free to jump in with responses to what's posted in this thread. I tend to work with more abstract patterns and textures; very rarely will you find a well-defined edge in most of my work. If you're more into photorealism and sharpness, you probably won't find my stuff very suitable starting material, but if it inspires you then post something. I use anything and everything for starting material, and basically just use the tonality and feel of the images to guide me.
