I uploaded some images to picasa from my phone which I optimised, but wondered on opinions over sensible file size, too small and the image is crap too large and you run out of space and frigs anyone off looking at it. So what file/image size would you use give or take.
link to images is at the end of this thread (most of them are about half the image size of the originals) HOT XXX SQUID PORN the sizes I used vary quite a bit are they too low rez or would you post lower.
guess it all depends, but usefull to get another thought on this.

You mean this link? picasaweb.google.com/net.justinfront/Amsterdam/
For web viewing, I think those are fine. I usually resize mine around 650px on the long side. This is big enough to see what's going on, but not big enough for anyone to steal a useful size (which is a concern of mine, being a commercial photog)

In Thunderdome, the widely-ignored FAQ says:
As a general rule, please keep the volleys that you post to under 100 kb and no larger than 600 pixels wide - if you do want to work with larger images, please post smaller ones and link to the large format for our brethren with dialup.
Of course, it's hard to imagine many people visiting the photography forum would not realize they were entering image-heavy land. If you're worried your image shoudl be viewed much larger to do it justice, linking to a larger version is a good way to go IMO.

thanks exactly the advice I was hoping for, I want to have ago at thunderdome one day but never really understood the rules and flow, maybe I should hunt out widely ignored FAQs.

As long as there's still people on dialup, I'd say no...
but that's more of a TD thing, I think in here we can get away with bigger fo sho.
