So, our coffee buyer has been shooting a lot of video over the past year and with our new site the owner wants video as a component of the site. My question is this....i have little experience shooting/editing/publishing video. Is there a preferred method for publishing online?
The site is a php/drupal build. I've got access to low end-moderate video editing software, a camera and Flash MX (not 2004) with limited experience. I'll probably be able to get a software upgrade within a year (most likely to the CS3 Suite), but for now I'm stuck with what i've got.
Do i edit outside of flash and import to publish?
Do I use flash at all?
Do I embed AVI/MPG?
I'll probably be cross-posting all my vids to youtube and/or google for exposure, but I'd like to have a better quality version on our site.

use AVI or MPG and import, that way it's easy enough to change the vid and not have to alter the app that runs it - my 02 anyway

Flash is definitely the way to go for easy embedding of video in a website, it can also give you high quality play back if you encode it correctly, the HOT XXX SQUID PORN website is a good example of that.

definitely flash for publishing it. if you need to edit it, any simple movie editor will work (ie. iMovie)

I think that's what i've settled on. I've got premiere elements for editing and cs3 is on order for publishing.
thanks!
