mcarrick Identifier

Hey guys,
This is my first post a friend Flip recommend this site and said "they are GREAT!".
This is my problem:
I need to import a jpg dynamically and give it an "identifier" the same as if it came from the library with an identifier attached?
It can not be imported into a movie clip as the distortion code being used only works on jpgs.

Please let me know if you have any ideas I am willing to try anything.

Thanks!

Hi Mac, welcome to the fold.
What app are you using to import that distorts all things except jpegs?
I'm trying to u/stand what you'd like to do:
you want to use a shell or wrapper to contain a jpeg and you want that shell or wrapper to carry the identifying info for the jpeg?
jpegs can carry embedded info which can be stripped. I have nfi how though, it may be more a backend question.
You can use Depot to store the jpeg as well as to store accompanying info, that should be easy enough.
You need to give us some more info regarding where the jpegs are being imported from and what will be done with them and the identifier afterwards. You'd receive a better response I think. shrug.gif
