I just had a review of a site I'm working on and the owner wants the home page to "build" or somehow animate, as in the main image loads, nav pops up into place, article teasers pop in, etc.

is this possible with something like jQuery or mootools or am I going to have to go flash?

Yes, JQuery or Mootools or similar would do the job. Last time I looked, MooTools had better f/x support but that was last year sometime. Here's the Mootools demo page -- nothing very wacky but it shows what the library can do.

cool...i delved a bit deeper into jQuery and i think it will definitely suit my needs.
