Not sure is this is the right forum or not but anyway as the title suggests how do you manage your fonts?
I use fontexplorer.

I've actually found the revision of fontbook that comes with OSX isn't too bad.
LinoType's font explorer is good too.. especially in the wake of Suitcase Fusion - which sucked balls.

in all these years, I have not yet ever found reason to "manage" my fonts
they seem to live happily together on both my machines...
however, I would love to 'manage' my coworker's fonts

I'm still using Adobe TypeManager....the free basic one. I have no access to sets. I might check out LinoType. It looks good.

If by manage you're referring to something cool and graphical that will facilitate my search for a tall, modern, distressed font, then I want one. Otherwise ...

Nope, we mean (at least I mean) being able to turn fonts on and off at will easing the resources used on loading all fonts. For example, when you're doing print design most often your corporate identities will be font sets such as Garamond / Futura for Client A and Imperial / Myriad Pro for Client B. Then imagine you have 36 clients with all different font sets. There is no reason why you need 36 font sets loaded and accessible with 2 or three fonts in each set when you're doing a quick Flash animation for Client Z. With font managers you turn your sets on and off so that you're not loading all your Type1 and OpenType fonts all at the same time.

Oh. I was just going to recommend Linotype.
I think I need to start reading threads before I post.
Extra Tip: If anyone has the same problem with Microsoft like I do, where you can't open Word
or Excel because it goes through every single one of your fonts and gives you an error like:
The font 'xxxx' is corrupt and should be removed"
Try this:
Open Lintotype and go to Tools> Clean system font caches.
It waves it's magical shit cleaning wand, restarts your computer and then you can open
up your choice of any Microsoft Dick programs without those annoying errors.
Super!

you just reminded me of my days back at the college marketing office... pre-OSX macs
font management seemed a realistic-enough concept... and a necessity [for some] on older, slower, machines with 2GB hard drives and only 256k of RAM...
and they make sense for people who work in offices where they have time to spend organizing shit like that... along those lines, back at the college, they got us an image server and management tools too—but you think there was ever time to work on organizing?
every place I have ever worked, unfortunately—I say unfortunately, because I do know that organization has its merits—time spent by a coworker doing anything as unproductive as "organizing fonts" was like moving the furniture around while there was a fucking deadline looming...
fotunately, Windows seems to handle my 1300-1400 fonts just fine without seeming to bog down or slow my software...

I use Suitcase Fusion. I don't really have any complaints with it. One of the features I really like about it is that you can scan for corrupt fonts. There is also a repair option, but I wouldn't call it 100% dependable.

i'v been using the same version of adobe type manager for 10 years now. :|
for viewing fonts it's terrible. i use printer's apprentice and it's a time saver.

I use printer's apprentice also not only for my projects but my wife loves it for her scrapbooking.
