BOBBYLOVEVILLE Anyone with Nikon D40 Experiences

A photographer buddy of mine is buying new gear and switching out some of his stock piled gear...somehow he has had a D40 laying around for a bit that he hasnt really used so he said he'd sell it to me for 350 bucks with two lenses. Im finding it impossible to pass up the offer so I just wanted to get some background on this camera if you have experiences with it? Ive only ever owned and shot canon so I think this a good opportunity for me to change it up a bit.

It's a fine camera. Only thing I don't like is it is a bit restricted in lens selection, since it doesn't have an AF motor. (lenses need to have internal motors, which not all Nikon lenses do).

However, at that price. If you don't already have a dslr - I'd get it. It's a fine entry level dslr.

It has no exposure bracketing, which is annoying. But it's hard to beat the price for a dSLR ($450-$475), and it's a fine camera.

Could you, would you, with a goat?

It's a good deal do it, Nikon is one of if not the best prosumer camera company out there.

i have one, i enjoy it.

Its what i hauled around alaska for 7 days and clicked off 3200 something photos with.

I have a D50, and I've been a fan.

I'm pretty happy with mine. Though the afore mentioned lack of exposure bracketing does annoy me.
